Best Quick TV Binges-3 Seasons or Less!
If you know me- you know I watch a crap ton of TV and I am a self-proclaimed movie and TV critic. Some call me a snob but I just don't like to hand out 5 stars or a 10/10 rating willy nilly...I believe you actually have to be worth someone's time.
With that said, here is my list of shows that are 3 seasons or less for a quick binge and all my public ratings for them. They are in no particular order because it was going to be a lot more work for me to order them by ratings, and I’m a lazy girl.
Check out my other post for other longer TV series that are more of a commitment but equally binge-able.
For more detailed reviews and explanations of each show check out my podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts!

Language warning: The show is TV-14 but has a lot of F-words
This is BY FAR my most recommended show. Season one is incredible, it’s "Lord of the Flies" mixed with "The Truman Show". My best advice would be to go in completely blind. Just start it. I have gotten over 40 people (that is not an exaggeration, this show is really that good) to watch this show. Season 2 is a lot darker as far as content goes, so check trigger warnings before starting that one.
The Wilds

I will be totally honest and say I am NOT usually into western... anything. It is just not my cup of tea. But there will always be exceptions because a good show is a good show at the end of the day and this is one of them. It has Tim McGraw and Faith Hill which should be enough for anyone to watch, but their "daughter" played by Isabel May was incredible! The storyline had me on the edge of my seat, I laughed, I cried, I loved everything about it, and watched it twice in 3 days.
It is a prequel to "Yellowstone" but it is NOTHING like that show. So if you are a Yellowstone fan and think it will be, you will be disappointed. It's a completely different show but amazing in its own way.

This is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Everyone but Ronald is a paid actor but Ronald has no idea that he is being pranked. He is the sweetest man and the whole thing is extremely wholesome and entertaining! I HIGHLY recommend it.
Jury Duty

This documentary was WILD! This limited series is about the rise and fall of the clothing company LuLaRoe. If you lived in Utah 10 years ago then I can almost guarantee you had some LuLaRoe leggings and dresses. I’m 99.9% sure that the owners who agreed to do this documentary had no idea that they were going to edit it to basically show how insane they were… but man was it entertaining to watch. Grab your popcorn for this one because it is worth the binge.
Lu La Rich

Is it cheesy? Absolutely. It is a "teen show" similar to Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Bunheads, etc. But there is no denying that I have watched this show multiple times over the years and it may just be the Australian accents... but it's addictive.
Dance Academy
1 Season
If you were a fan of the Duggars growing up then I recommend this one. It includes Jill Duggar and her husband, as well as other previous BILP members. I love a good cult documentary and this one was very well done.
Shiny Happy People

Another cheesy one, but it was a good time. Amazing music throughout the entire series and it was an entertaining day watching it. Belly had almost no personality except for the fact that she confidently introduces herself as "Belly" to strangers, but besides that, I didn't see the appeal. I was in it for Jeremiah and Jeremiah alone.
Season 2 was a bit more sad but I still had a good time.

Amazon Prime Shows I Tried and Wouldn't Recommend
A Discovery of Witches 6/10: I loved the first season but by season 3 I was so bored.
Modern Love 5/10: Similar to Solos, some episodes were cute but others weren’t worth my time.
Solos 5/10: A couple of the episodes were good, but as a whole, it isn't worth it.
Upload 6/10: I loved the first season, liked the second, and quit 4 episodes into the third season.

I know it's very trendy, but what can I say? It really is fantastic. I've never seen the Adams Family before and still loved it so I recommend it to everyone.

I found this show to be absolutely adorable and I really enjoyed it. It is an LGBTQ+ series and I found it to be so sweet!
Heartstopper

Language warning: Says a LOT of F-words but can be found on VidAngel if you use that platform.
This show is purely entertaining. Captions are a must for this show! It is very light-hearted and hilarious. This one is great to watch in your spare time without needing to fully commit to it. You can hop in and out at any time and it’s just there to make you laugh.
Derry Girls
1 Season
If you are into documentaries or medical shows, this one is fantastic. As someone that went over a year without a diagnosis, I know how difficult it can be to not know what's wrong with you.

I, like many others during quarantine, watched this show and I think it is worth your time even now. It's unlike any show I've watched before and I found it refreshing because of its original idea. The costume and set design were amazing and I felt like Anya's performance was great. It's a good one if you want to watch something that's fascinating and new but you won't have to think about it days later and won't have you stressed and on the edge of your seat.
The Queen’s Gambit
1 Season
This is another one way outside my normal "liked" genres. I'm not a big fantasy fan but this one was very entertaining and having not read the book I really enjoyed the surprises. It also has Ben Barnes who played Prince Caspian in the Narnia series back in the day, who was also one of my first crushes, so I'm sure that played into my good review.
I still haven’t seen the second season because covid made the release like 3 years later and I had moved on by then haha.
Shadow and Bone
1 Season
Warning: This is a docuseries focused on sex education and will show pictures of multiple vulvas in the first episode when explaining female anatomy.
As someone who has gone to school for sex education, I thought this series did a fantastic job covering female anatomy and had some amazing information about female sexuality. It is 3 episodes and covers mind, body, and relationships in regard to female pleasure. I thought it was very tastefully done and I have used a lot of different clips from this series as examples on my school assignments for the sex education courses at UVU.
The Principles of Pleasure
1 Season
Language Warning: It says a lot of F-words. It really depends on the episode because some have more than others, but overall I think there is some in all of them.
This show is hilarious! I watched it out of order and just went with my favorite celebrities first. It is a scripted show but the guest celebrity has no script and no idea what's going on and just has to improvise and guess who they think the murderer is by the end of the episode. Very entertaining comedy show.
Murderville

Language warning: A LOT of f-words in this series. It’s a documentary so nothing is filtered when the girls talk.
This show is a guilty pleasure for me. I'm not sure what I love so much about it other than I can't believe some of these girls have done such crazy things at 14 years old. But I really enjoy seeing their stories and the effort they make, or don't make, to become better.
Girls Incarcerated
3 Seasons + Queen Charolott’s season
Warning: It has a lot of steamy sex scenes but you can watch it through VidAngel if you want those filtered out like I did.
Is this the best show ever? no. Did I love it? No. Did I watch it multiple times? Yes. Sometimes I am just a sucker for romance and I hop on the bandwagon even if the plot is objectively boring and the only thing the lead has going for him is his looks (season one). Sometimes it just feels nice to be in on something everyone seems to like and it's easier to just agree. Ultimately this post is about shows I think the majority of people would like and find easy to binge, so I obviously had to add it.
Personal thoughts: Queen Charolotte is the best, season one was ok, I liked season 2, I hated season 3.
Bridgerton
1 Season
Being from Utah I found a natural fascination for this series because it is all about the FLDS church. It is a docuseries and I felt like it was really well done. The last 15 minutes of the last episode are really hard to listen to- just a trigger warning.
Keep Sweet Pray and Obey
1 Season
I know everyone has their opinions about this couple- but from an objectional standpoint, this was a very fascinating series to watch. Whether you agree with them or not, I found it extremely entertaining and brought me up to date with all the "Royal" drama so I felt like it was worth it. Plus I'm a Meghan fan- there I said it.

I love clean things and I learned a lot from this short little series. It sparked joy in me. I think you'd like it if you like any sort of show on HGTV or you just want to get motivated to clean your house.
Tidying Up
3 Seasons
Do I love this show? Absolutely not. Do I like this show? Eh, I guess. Will I be watching the next season? *sigh* yes. Because as stupid as it is, and as much as I hate 30-year-olds playing 16-year-olds, there is a big part of it that is entertaining. Plus my friends like it and I like to add to the conversation so I feel an obligation to watch it.
Outer Banks
1 Season
I haven’t read the book so I can’t compare, but I really enjoyed the story. Its about a French blind girl during WW11. It was an interesting plot, bit of a slow burn, but I loved that the lead actress is blind in real life. Great historical fiction film if you’re into those.
All The Light We Cannot See
1 Season
This show is SO solid. He’s hot. Its a basic plot but still has you on the edge of your seat in suspense (even though you probably predicted correctly what will happen). Its a fun fast one to binge and I can’t wait for the second season!
The Night Agent
1 Season
If you like mystery and suspense then I would recommend this one. It felt very fresh and new with the plot and I honestly couldn’t see anything coming. It had me on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait for season 2. The only warning I have to give was the lead girl had a way deeper voice than I was expecting and it threw me off for like half of the first episode.
School Spirits
1 Season
If you are a K-drama fan or if you’re wanting to see what its all about… this is the one I would recommend. I stand by my convictions that K-drama’s should only be 10-12 episodes and not 16, I was also pissed at the ending to this one because I want everyone to ride into the sunset and hate “realistic endings”. BUT with all that said, I would still 100% recommend this one. It will give you all the butterflies and have you swooning for Captian Ri.
Crash Landing On You
1 Season
I watched every second of this case when it was airing and was absolutely obsessed. So if you were the same, this was a fun little series to bring back the reminiscent memories when this was our entire tik tok feed.
If you didn't follow it but are curious about it, I would say its a solid recap of everything that happened.
If you didn’t care then, and still don’t care now, its not a must-watch.
Depp v. Heard
2 Seasons
This series was unlike anything I’d seen before. It was fast-paced and funny. I binged the first season in a day but the second season was a bit harder for me to get through. I still think a lot of people would like the plot and find it interesting which is why I decided to add it.
The Politician
1 Season
On my personal scale this show is a 9… maybe a 9.5. I couldn’t rate it that high for the general public because it is quite sad and I know not everyone loves that. The concept is incredible and so well done. Each episode is the same day the following year. It starts off with them graduating college, you then watch the next 20 years play out episode by episode. They do an amazing job of giving you enough information to fill in the blanks of what happened during the year you didn’t see, but you clearly get to see the characters growth and struggles.
One of the best series I’ve ever watched and I highly recommend it… just have some tissues ready.
One Day
Netflix shows I tried but couldn't get on board with:
Now before you get all riled up, these ones are popular with a lot of people but I personally couldn't finish them, or if I did, I didn’t feel like they were worth recommending because they’re better shows out there.
All the Light We Cannot See: I actually liked this one but I don’t think the mass general public
would say its a “must watch” which is why I didn’t add it to the recommendations. But if you like WW11 historical shows then you will enjoy this one.

If you are a history buff of any kind I think you will really enjoy this one. As someone who knows shockingly little about history, I found this series to be very educational. If you go into it like I did thinking it’s going to be like “Top Gun Maverick”… be prepared to be disappointed. They are the bombers, not the fighter pilots.
As a personal opinion, I wanted Austin Butler to be the main character, but alas, we can’t always get what we want. Overall I think this one was very well made and both men and women would enjoy it.
Masters of the Air
1 Season
This series felt very unique to me and gave me “The Queen’s Gambit” vibes in the best way. There is a bit of tragedy and it has strong feminist themes (which I loved) but I know that’s (unfortunately) not everyone's cup of tea. I also know not everyone loves Brie Larson, but I think she plays this role perfectly and it is worth the watch if you are wanting something that is interesting and new, but also feels complete at the end. With that said- I’m still going to hope for a second season.
Lessons In Chemistry
3 Seasons
I absolutely LOVE this series! It’s extremely wholesome and tender, but before you sit down as a family to watch it together you need to know one thing- There are a LOT of F-words in this show. Besides the language, everything else is incredible and I walked away inspired to be a better person after watching all 3 seasons.
Ted Lasso
Apple TV+ Shows I Tried and Wouldn't Recommend
The Buccaneers 4/10: No. Absolutely not. There are no “Bridgerton” vibes at all, I promise.
Platform: Hulu
1 Season
Personally I didn’t like this because I like my endings wrapped in a pretty pink bow and this did NOT give me that. BUT this page isn’t about whether I liked something, its about whether I think the general public will like it. With that in mind, I think the acting was amazing and the story was haunting and had me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Its a nice one-season binge for someone who prefers more serious shows.
Little Fires Everywhere
1 Season
Again with the dark and serious themes. Not for everyone, but if you like a murder mystery or documentaries, this one is worth your time. I personally skipped all of the scenes with her online boyfriend because they made me uncomfy, but everything else had me in a choke hold.
The Act
3 Seasons
I’ll be totally real with you- I only watched season one and half of season two before giving up. Murder mysteries just aren’t really my thangggg. The show is super popular and a lot of people like it so I figured I’d add it for the general public. Just because I didn’t like it doesn’t mean you won’t, I actually think this one is a solid one for those that don’t watch a ton of tv because it has a bit of everything.
Only Murders in the Building
1 Season
This series is not for everyone. There is a lot of serious themes, it is dark and sad, and there is quite a bit of nudity. With that said, it’s one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful series I’ve ever seen. If you liked “One Day” and are ok with a “serious” show where you see the growth of characters and are taken on a journey, then this is the one for you.
Normal People
Hulu Shows I Tried and Wouldn't Recommend
The Artful Dodger 5/10: The main plot was good but the side plots were extremely boring
The Dropout 5/10: It was interesting, but also forgettable
A Teacher 3/10: ya, don’t ask. And don’t judge. It had me for 5 episodes and then I was out.
2 Seasons
If you like a quick comedy then this one is for you. Its one of those “turn your brain off” shows that you can put on in the background but is very entertaining and funny when you are paying attention.
